Read Along

My sister in law has been telling me to read The Hunger Games for quite a while now. Well, I finally bought the first book in the series – I just couldn’t face her one more time without having read this! It was getting kind of embarrassing, really. She would ask if I had read it, and I would have to say again and again that no. nope. nada. Haven’t picked it up but I-Do-Really- Want-To-Read-It-I-Swear! And I do really want to read it. I have heard excellent things about the series and with a movie in the works, I have a feeling that it is going to be popping up everywhere from here on out. This time around I will actually know what everyone is talking about. I am going to chalk up the past procrastination on reading it to pure and utter laziness.

But no more! I have bought the book (and started it too! Hannah and I have been reading it during the afternoon blanket time) and figured that this would be an ideal opportunity to invite y’all to read it along with me if you feel so inclined. I will do a post every Monday about that weeks’ chapters, and we can open up a discussion in the comments. (And, if no one reads along with me, well then, I will mark my post for spoilers so I don’t reveal anything to you.) So here is the breakdown:

• Monday June 13 : Ch 1-3
• Monday June 20th: Ch 4-6
• Monday June 27th: Ch 7-9
• Monday July 4th: Ch 10-12
• Monday July 11th: Ch 13-15
• Monday July 18th: Ch 16-18
• Monday July 25th: Ch 19-21
• Monday August 1st: Ch 22-24
• Monday August 8th: Ch 25-27

So go grab the book and tuck in! Let’s read about a post apocalyptic, dreary distopia this summer. Seriously though, that sounds right up my alley. And better than reading about it in the winter when I feel like I am actually living in a dreary distopia – at least in the summer I can chase away the gray with sunshine.
